Coca-cola Advert

Coca cola is one of the worlds leading drink company , it has been popular for a century or more , and advertisments have made it even more popular. In this essay , I will describe the meaning  of the selected Coka Cola advert.

Narratives
in the advert , there are Two men who are guarding their boundaries by walking up and down the boundaries, in a hot and desert. One pulls out a coke, with a sound of the bottle opening , which the other man hears. The officer pulls out another coke for the other officer. They extend the barriers line by rubbing the line out on the ground and passing it through there. After this , the soldier redraws the barrier.

Denotations
There are two military officers, guarding a barrier. they both have heavy and thick uniform, which  shows sweat and dust on their faces. The two uniforms are different and that represents two different parties or nations. They are set in a desert, which there is nothing , except from two shacks.

Meaning
The slogan "open happiness" links to the meaning of the advert, as we can see in the advert   , there are two soldiers who look like enemies , standing against eachother with a straight face , once one soldier pauses for a coke , everything seemed to change . The man on the other side also paused and gazed at the coke bottle , the man who was holding the bottle reached for another one and handed it over to the man on the opposite. Before this happened , all the audience heard was the coke bottle opening , and after this sound , the man gave interest and once the bottle had opened , the man opened happiness, just like the slogan said, coke is also trying to say , no matter what , coke will always re-unite people , but only for a certain amount of time.
